Tapestry now offers a compatible export for Funding Loop, making it easier for nursery managers to transfer the data needed for early years funding declarations at the start of each term.
Each term, nurseries need to declare funded hours and attendance data to their local authority; a process that typically involves manually compiling data from a nursery’s management system into a format dedicated nursery funding software such as Funding Loop can use. For busy nursery managers, this can mean hours of admin at exactly the point in term when time is already stretched thin. Tapestry’s new export pulls this data directly from the Management System into a format Funding Loop recognises, cutting out manual re-entry and reducing the risk of errors during a busy start-of-term period.
This joins Tapestry’s existing accounting software exports for Xero and QuickBooks, which allow invoice data to be exported directly for import into either accounting platform – including accounting codes and tax type information set up in advance, so figures land in the right place without manual adjustment. These accounting software exports matter more than ever for childminders using Tapestry. Since April 2026, childminders with combined gross income over £50,000 have needed to keep digital records and file quarterly under HMRC’s Making Tax Digital for Income Tax rules – a threshold dropping to £30,000 in 2027 and £20,000 in 2028, bringing many more into scope over the next two years.
Together, these exports sit alongside Tapestry’s broader suite of finance and accounting features, including the comprehensive Management System and Tapestry Pay, making invoicing, payments and funding admin smoother and easier from one connected platform.
The Tapestry Team have written a guide for settings using Tapestry, to help them with reconciling their funded hours and parent payments; it covers the various tools that Tapestry provides, and how settings can use them to assist with their accounting across the financial year.
