Data stored on Tapestry (the application this website refers to) is covered by a completely different contract. You can access that from the security page on this website or from within your Tapestry account.

Your privacy is really important to us. With this in mind, we have written this cookie policy to explain what cookies are, how we collect them and what we use them for.

We are The Foundation Stage Forum Limited. We work with trusted third-party tools to enhance our website’s functionality and marketing efforts. These include but are not limited to:

Google Analytics

This tool collects anonymised data about website traffic and visitor behaviour, such as the pages visited and the time spent on our site. Data may be transferred outside the UK/EU under EU-approved standard contractual clauses.

Pixels

These help us to understand how visitors interact with our site and, in the case of the Meta Pixel, enable us to deliver personalised ads on Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta platforms. The data collected is pseudonymised and does not directly identify you, but you can still choose not to share this information by declining cookies when you first visit our website. Pipedrive

We use this tool to manage trial requests, giveaways, and marketing preferences. Pipedrive only collects data you, the user, willingly provide i.e. by filling in a form on our website. Pipedrive data is securely stored in AWS data centres within the EEA and complies with GDPR and other data protection standards. If Pipedrive subsequently engage sub-processors outside the EEA, they ensure that their third-party service providers are either certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or signed the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses for data transfers with them.

Klaviyo

Calendly

  • Klaviyo is used to manage our mailing lists and marketing communications.
  • We use Klaviyo and Fluent Forms (see below) webforms on our website, to capture the information that will be retained in our CRM (Pipedrive), and to record marketing preferences (Klaviyo).
  • Klaviyo is a data processor, and we control the data we input into Klaviyo. Klaviyo provides tools for compliance with GDPR, and undergoes annual third-party audits to ensure their internal controls are designed and operating in accordance with industry standards, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001. Their third-party audit reports can be downloaded directly from their self-service Trust Center.
  • Klaviyo’s data is hosted in the US. They are self-certified under the DPF (Data Privacy Framework) and comply with the data privacy principles thereunder.  To the extent and for as long as the DPF is acknowledged as a valid transfer mechanism in the relevant country/region, Personal Data originating from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, or otherwise being subject to the GDPR shall be transferred on the basis of the DPF.  

This tool allows visitors to book demos with the Tapestry team. Some of the cookies from Calendly are necessary for security or to allow the form to function correctly. Some are statistical or marketing to help us see the number of visits a page gets or to distinguish between human users and bots.

Managing your cookie preferences

You can manage your cookies in several ways:
  • Cookie Banner: When you first visit our site, you can choose which cookies to allow or decline. We use Cookiebot for this purpose. You can change your preference or read more about each cookie by clicking on the black circle in the bottom left corner of your screen and selecting  ‘Change your consent’.
  • Browser Settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Check your browser’s help section for instructions.
  • Third-Party Tools: You can manage tracking preferences directly with third-party providers, such as using the Google Opt-Out Add-on or adjusting your Meta Ad Preferences.

The Department for Education SEND Assessment Guidance

SEND assessment guidance and resources have been released by the Department for Education (DfE) to support those working in the EYFS. The guidance has been written in collaboration with the well-respected Dingley’s Promise and aims to support ‘a strengths based approach to assessing children’s needs’.

We have created a CSV that can be uploaded to Tapestry via our Bespoke Frameworks feature, so that you can easily integrate the SEND assessment guidance in your Tapestry account:

Move

The MOVE programme is an activity-based framework that enables disabled young people to gain independent sitting, standing, walking and transferring skills. If you use the programme, you can also enable a branch map that can be used with Cherry Garden.

An example Reflection

The Early Years manager at Tapestry Primary School, Gabriel, has noticed issues with storing objects for loose parts play. He adds his thoughts to Tapestry as a reflection, and outlines what he hopes to achieve.

The Reflections area of Tapestry is a structured, staff-only space for understanding the impact of your provision. Using the Admin Toolkit

Using Bespoke Frameworks

Build your own curriculum using a CSV file, ready to import into Tapestry. You can create your own areas, aspects, statements and scales, organise them into a structure that suits your setting, and assess against them in observations.

Using Flags

Flags allow you to label an observation with specific points of reference, such as the EYFS areas, celebrations, or custom flags you have created. Once applied, these flags can be viewed and filtered for a specific child, or the whole setting, helping you quickly locate relevant observations.

Using the Areas of Concern Screen

The Areas of Concern screen gives you one place to note where a child may need more support across the EYFS areas. Any observations you’ve flagged in those areas appear here automatically, making it easy to look back at what you’ve seen and what it relates to. You can also start reflections from this screen, helping you keep track of the support you’re planning,

Using Observations
