Several key updates to our Management System

We are excited to announce more functionality for our management system. For full details on all the changes we’ve made this month, please take a look at this post.

There are two main updates. First is the addition of “Extra Charges” which allows you to add a charge for anything you want to a child’s schedule or on an ad-hoc basis. This is great for regularly charging for meals, nappies etc or for one-off charges like trips.

Secondly, you can now assign ‘Bill Payers’ and send invoices directly to relatives from Tapestry. After you’ve chosen the relatives responsible for paying invoices for each child, you can send them a copy of the invoice with the click of a button.

Other updates include new filter and configuration options for invoices, pre-populating new regular schedules for quicker set-up, and other quality-of-life tweaks.

New courses and guides to support your CPD

We have two new CPD courses and another “beginner’s guide” this month.

Emily who heads our Product Support team, and Ben from our Education Team, have combined their knowledge and experience to bring you “Parental Engagement” on Tapestry CPD. This course focuses on strategies for involving parents in their child’s learning journal. Access the full course here.

Meanwhile, Alexandra from our Product Support team has created “The Care Diary on Tapestry”, which covers everything you need to know about using the Care Diary. Access the full course here.

The collection of free beginner’s guides continues to grow, and this month child psychologist Siya Mngaza has written “The Beginner’s Guide to Belonging”. This is designed to support childminders, nurseries and schools interested in having necessary conversations about belonging. Download the full guide here.

Introducing: The Mandela Model Workbook

We are delighted to share The Mandela Model Workbook, written by Professor Eunice Lumsden. This is a free, interactive resource which is designed to help early years leaders develop and foster belonging for the families and staff in their setting’s community. You can watch Eunice explaining more about the workbook, and download it, here.

A reminder about ‘Rosie’s Story’

This month is a great opportunity to remind you about “Rosie’s Story”, as Rosie has just turned 2! The on-going video series about Rosie started on her very first day. It documents Rosie’s development and how she interacts with the world as she grows up; a great resource for exploring child development. For more information, visit this page. And a very happy 2nd birthday to Rosie!

Early Education’s Centenary Book

We’d like to draw attention to Early Education’s Centenary book which is now on sale on their website. The book is titled “Early Childhood Education: Current realities and future priorities” and features a wide range of sector professionals as chapter authors.

For more information, visit Early Education’s website here.

Jack

Jack started his career in education as a volunteer in a Brighton-based Charity for children with motor disorders. After which he was hired as an assistant conductor. During his time there, he studied at the University of Brighton to qualify as a primary school teacher. After a short stint as a supply teacher, Jack got his first job teaching Year 6. He remained in that role for a few years before moving to Year 4.
