5 Ways to Celebrate Children’s Learning on Tapestry

by Jack on April 9

We’re all about celebrating learning and development here at Tapestry. This article lists 5 of our features and explains how you might use them to celebrate children’s learning. Remember, celebrations never stop! These features (and more) can be used with Key Stage children on Tapestry as well as children in the Early Years.

Observations

Observations on Tapestry are simple to make and are a great tool for celebrating children’s learning; snap a picture, shoot a video, or write a few notes and you’re away!

You can share observations immediately with relatives or schedule them to go live whenever you want.

You can also use flag sets to help you keep track of the different types of learning and development that you observe.

Child Login

Where possible, you should involve the children in celebrating their own learning as much as you can. Child Login lets children access a simplified version of Tapestry where they can view observations in their journal, create their own observations, and view activities.

Use Child Login at your setting alongside the children, or allow them and their relatives to access it from home. Either way is great for getting involved and celebrating learning.

Reflections

Want to share and celebrate something happening in your setting with other staff? Use Reflections!

Reflections was designed to give staff a space to reflect on their provision and pedagogy and an important part of reflective practice is recognising and celebrating what went well.

Seen some great progress in your reading group? Children really engaging with your updated outside area? Children exploring and being curious?

Reflect, collaborate and celebrate with Tapestry Reflections.

Reports

How do you celebrate children’s learning and development that’s happened over a longer period?

Reports can be a fantastic way to consolidate achievements for a wider overview.

We have a number of pre-made report formats available, but if none of them suit your needs you can simply design your own template.

You can also add media to reports and they can be shared directly with families.

Memos

Celebrating something as a class or a group and want to share it with all their relatives at once?

Tapestry Memos is the easiest way to message groups of relatives and a great way to share and celebrate learning. You can also allow relatives to comment on Memos so they can join in the celebrations, too.

Happy celebrating!
