Use your own assessment framework on your Tapestry account
Tapestry comes with a number of well-known assessment frameworks pre-added and available to anyone with an account. However, we know that more and more schools and settings have been choosing to create their own to use alongside, or instead of those.
Using the Bespoke Framework feature, you can upload a framework which you have created yourself to your Tapestry account. Decide which parts you’d like to be able to select and create a scale to fine tune your assessments e.g. by showing how well a child is demonstrating a particular skill.
Adding your own framework can offer you extra flexibility for supporting your teaching and learning – for example supporting your SEND provision, developing curriculum goals, or monitoring smaller projects.
With Bespoke Frameworks you can capture learning and monitor progress in a way that works for you and the children in your care.
Your Bespoke Frameworks will only be available to the people you add to your account. And, as with other assessment frameworks, you control whether or not relatives can see assessments that are made using it.
When it comes to monitoring, you can start with the Bespoke Framework Summative Assessment screen. From there you can view the assessments and relevant observations that have already made for a child in each period.
After reviewing the recorded evidence, if you feel any assessments are not quite right, you can override them. If there are gaps that you’d like to fill you can add new assessments.
Tapestry also offers Thoroughness screens. These tell you the number of times you have assessed a child in each part of your framework over a chosen period of time and will direct you to the relevant observations. This can help you to identify gaps in your provision coverage.
The Bespoke Frameworks feature is available to all Tapestry users as part of your subscription.

We are working closely with a range of organisations to create a CSV file of their framework or curriculum. Using Bespoke Frameworks, you can upload the milestones that are featured in the schemes and use them to support your assessment processes.
